Hello. I have a couple of sequential bills I would like to inquire about. I also have an old $5 bill that's not in great condition but it's the whole bill and a few $2 bills that I'd like to inquire about if that's okay? The $1 bills (F77425588C, F77425589C, F77425590C) the $5 (L30390995B) the $2 (H04731935A, G49925907A, G27036743A, B17517272A) I also have alot of coins. I collect a little bit of everything really.

    Hi Amanda. Welcome to CoinTalk.
You've taped into a thread that's almost 10 years old. You would get more responses if you started a thread of your own under paper money. Also, include photos so people can see what you are talking about.

We also need to know the series (year) of the notes.

Got a question for anyone that might have some info. I have 40 uncirculated sequential $100 star notes. Worth saving or no?

Do any of them have special or fancy
serial numbers ? if not they would
probably be spenders but some people
just save them because there stars, but
little or no value over face.

I think I paid $100 for these 2 bills 5 or 6 years ago....it depends on how old they are....any unusual series or block....condition (grade)....and if anything else worthwhile on the serial number:

    1928A $1 SC FR #1601 SN #328 & 329 front.jpg

    1928A $1 SC FR #1601 SN #328 & 329 back.jpg

I've seen the odd collector pay a premium for consecutive # notes the odd time (but its seldom). It usually occurs when the notes are:
    A) consecutive errors (one adjacent note may or may not show the error)
    B) consecutive special serial numbers but usually when the the # are "turn-overs" such as 0999999, 1000000 & 1000001 & such so that each number is meaningful or collectible in some way (this could also mean a signature/plate/year change over)
    C) on the odd very tough early series (scarce prefix/signature) where the note is near impossible to acquire in UNC.

Otherwise, consecutive serial # are how the notes are issued & do not command a premium. It's a sad myth that collectors suspect they do just like they may assume consecutive means UNC (which some sellers still seem to prey on).
