Anyone know if these coins are worth anything or how they came to look they way they did...? The top row has the Lincoln Memorial scrapped off but the letters were untouched; the second cent has the shape of California counter-stamped. The middle row are 2 wheat cents with a burgundy color; more so with the one on the left. The bottom row are 2 quarters with a black color to them; again, more so with the one on the left. Are any of these worth keeping? Thank you!
First row first coin PMD worth 1 cent if the bank or coin machine will accept it, second coin value only to a collector of counter stamps but the coin is not attractive due to spotting so probably 1 cent value. Second row.... depends on the date and condition of the wheat penny but if common and circulation between 5 to 25 cents. Key dates are worth more and better condition is worth more. Yours picture without dates known are probably in the 5 to 15 cent category. (Dates and condition matter) Third row. Worth 25 cents each Spend all but the wheats IMHO
For what it's worth, the wheat dates are 1958-D and 1944-D. Not in great shape by any means. What would have caused the burgundy color...?
Chemical reaction to something put on the coin, natural patina, tonning from a album, environmental damage, 70 some years of wear. Practically anything.
