Value Impact of Coin Cleaning

    The answer? It depends on how it was cleaned.

    I cleaned this coin. This is known as a proper cleaning. Doubled its value.

    This coin coin has some very slight hairlining, but it is still worth MS-62-ish money.

    This coin has a noticeable, but not harsh, cleaning. Its value was slashed by half.

    This coin was scrubbed clean. It is borderline polished. I got about 25% of problem-free value for it.
