On the observce, the titulature with this break T-I (VALENT-INIANVS) is totally unknown of the monayage of this emperor. The plan of the face of the emperor, in particular the eye, and the typography, does not deceive on the unofficial character of this silique. On the reverse, the legend was officially used in the golde and silver issues for this mint. No silique was struck with this complete legend, but rather in RESTITVTOR-REIP. However, the RIC gave, for the mint of Nicomédie, a silique in the identical reverse, but in the correct titulature of the observe (RIC 5). An imitation for the mint of Thessalonica gave one quasi-identical but incomplete reverse (RESTITVT-REIPVBLICAE), property of British Museum.
