Get a girlfriend :kewl:Get a girlfriend and get use to it V's don't take them to the movies like they used to....and I'm more of a WornWolf than a Werewolf.
At least GIMP doesn't blame me for things that never happened 5 years ago that I wouldn't remember anyway Well, to avoid switching up the subject here is another V Nickel... Same story as the first one.
My 85, 86 and 12-S are just goods. I just took some quick pictures from my dansco album - both pages and posted the picture that looked the best. The first page is mostly VF or so, then second page is AU and maybe low MS for a couple.
Mark - nice looking group from your Dansco. ----------------------------------------------------- I left off with my 1885 - here's the next date...
I recently found this 1921-s Liberty nickel in a lot I won off ebay... so I doubt that it is legit. Any feedback would be welcome. Oh, and I only paid $25 for a lot of 40, so if it is fake I did not lose very much money. By the way... how do you all attach photos so that we can see them in the post? Having to click on the link kind of stinks.
The board used to attach picutures and now I think it adds a link. I use photobucket for my pictures. Then I just embed the link in the post. As for the 1912-S - I am not good enough to say 100% positive, but it looks legit to me. I recommend taking it to a local dealer. Plus wait for other opinion from better experts.
Other than transposing the 21 12 in your post, It looks like a nice G8 1912-S Liberty to me. I don't know markers or counterfeit indicators, but since you purchased it in a group of 40, I think it reduces the chance of it being fake. It's probably just a key that was in a wrong slot that got dumped when they took common liberties out of folders from the purchase of collections of common circulated grade material. Great find.
Thanks for the positive outlook on that coin Marshall... and I am sorry about transposing the 12 into a 21. My typing is not the best. I also had an extremely worn Liberty nickel from another lot (same seller though) that I decided to let my friend nic-a-date since I figured it could not cause the coin to be worth any less... well, it ended up being an 1885!! The detail is still very weak even after the acid treatment, but the date is clear enough to read now.
Here is a 1903 I have. Of course, she has seen better days, especially her neck! Edit: Updated pic, the way I had it cropped was bugging me just a tad.
Wow, that PR65 is very impressive! I was planning on buying a nice MS65 V Nickel on Northeast Numismatics a while back, it had similar toning to the above coins and it was $895, but just like the two proof indian cents I was planning on buying, I didn't hit the trigger fast enough. Elbesaar, I'm extremely impressed in your Barber/V set, keep them coming my friend.
