The USPS haas this great new thing now! It's a SMALL Flat Rate box and costs only $4.85 to anywhere in the USA. :hail: It's amazing how many cents you can stuff into one of those things!

    Hi T$,

Be careful, if the package weighs more than 13ozs total weight, it cannot be shipped first class. I sent out a lp2 set and it was 15oz total weight. I just sent it media mail for $2 and some change. If your package gets audited at the post office and it weighs more than the 13ozs, they may return it to you for insufficient postage.

Here is the important part from what you quoted earlier

Your package is not over the 13 oz limit, and since it is over 3/4 in thick it is eligible for first class mailing. From what I see on the USPS web site the first class postage for an 11 oz package is $2.92 and a 12 oz package is $3.09 Now that is just postage, no insurance, delivery or signature confirmation etc

And an LP2 set is not eligible for media mail. If it get audited they may hit you for nsufficient postage just to return it to you. It can also result in all mail you want to ship having to be opened and inspected before they will accept it.

    Media Mail
For sending small and large packages consisting of books, film, manuscripts, sound recordings, video tapes, and computer readable media (such as CDs, DVDs, and diskettes).

Coins do not qualify as printed material.
