I could'nt even get teased and make me think i had a chance on this one.Usually it will let you put it in the shopping cart baskek before it crashes.
Something else had to have happened despite what people might say. This just lasted way to long for what it was and how many people were trying for over an hour. Tip of the hat to you though for being lucky trying then. They would have gone in minutes but it was a disaster for a while. I really have a hard time believing something else wasnt happening with how fast most have sold out
I actually got a message from the mint during the transaction. It said that my browser looked like it was operating with some sort of automatic system to get around the web security. I hope you know what they meant because I don't.
I don't and they had numerous different errors especially early including ones that had code on the page. It took me forever with it and something definitely changed about an hour in. I doubt it was just less traffic I dont think it was anything nefarious by the mint though
Ever since the mint start making the ASE Proofs in 1986 I've been ordering them. This year NO. I didn't think there was anything different this year until I went to order them. Never, had a problem before but, didn't realize they cut production and I believe they were sold out within an hour of release. I was really pissed off because I never had a problem getting them. Even a month after release no problem. Not until this year and I couldn't believe it happened. What a slap in the face. Lost interest in them and I hope the greedy dealers get stuck with them.
I've been going in/on yesterday and today via their link sent in a reminder email to me yesterday or the day before, with no problems.
At the risk of having rotten tomatoes thrown at me, I see there's one more chance at 'mint purchased' ASE's coming up on Oct 1st, as part of the silver proof set: https://catalog.usmint.gov/limited-...roof-set-american-eagle-collection-21RCN.html Anybody aiming for that? I think I've been ASE'd out this year, personally...
I think these are redundant. Am attempt to get us to buy the same things in different packaging. Check that before you buy.
They do not like commoners. I'm a commoner so I deleted them a year ago. I do wish you and others the best of luck though...
You have me beat by one. But I've only been collecting for almost 50 years, so maybe there's time for me to catch up. Freeing oneself from the need to fill a hole just because it exists is also liberating. It changed my life as a coin collector.
Its only a matter of time before the mint will finally realize that the time of the middle man (read dealer) is over for all mint products except bullion. Direct shipping to the customer will actually raise profits and be more efficient. The rich will still be favored because they will have the faster computers, internet speeds to get the order through and the $ to pay the premiums.
