USA Classic head half cent, ID neede!

    So I have this ugly Classic head half cent, and would like to know the year. My guess is 1828!
    What do you guys think?!

    I can't say for sure, it is either a 26 C-2 or a 28 C-1. They share the same rev die.

    I had considered the 1826 too, but the undeniable "8" in the first pic narrowed it down for me.

    With all the hits in that area, I find the "8" to be uncertain. But the leaf positions on the reverse make the rev die unquestionably the rev of 26 C-2 /28 C-1.
