The mint is asking for options regarding reproducing coins from the past by vote. Open the link below. In the middle of the screen will be a choice box. Select PROVIDE FEED BACK. If you don't vote, you can't complain. https://catalog.usmint.gov/semiq/?c...29SemiQBestoftheMintEmail2&cm_mmca1=Marketing
I took it and thanks for posting but I have my doubts that the mint will follow the advice from those that respond.
The results are supposed to go to the Citizens Coin Advisory Committee, then on to the Mint. The fact that they put this out was surprising and exciting for me. Let's watch and see what happens.
This is pretty cool of the Mint to do! Voted highly for the flying eagle cent and high relief St. Gaudens
I did not vote a "10" for anything. My highest vote was for the Gobrecht Dollar at an "8." There were a number of modern coins that can be easily purchased today. I rated them a "1." Why would we need the Statue of Liberty and Constitution $5 gold coins when they currently sell for around melt? The numismatic interest is not there, and the new mint produced versions would be more expensive than the old, original pieces. I was surprised that they did not include any of these pieces.
