Anyone buying these? I dumbly have bought from 1960-2020 Never got a no S dime or cent lol bought these for grandson. READ the rules on B/S/T , must be in the proper classified forum in the CLASSIFIED ( under FORUMS in header on Main page.
That's all I'm down to buying from the US Mint. Since that fiasco last year with the limited edition Reverse proof SAE, and the steep decline in value of most US Mint sets, I'd rather give my LCS the business. (Still didn't order the 2020 Silver proof set).
I think that if the mint reduced the quantity of new items each year and focused on quality instead, the future of numismatics would be somewhat brighter.
Sadly, the clad proof sets don't bring much these days. I've been buying the silver version since 1992 and most of those only bring the original issue price or less. But they're shiny and silver and I enjoy them.
Just count out how many quarters are put out each year and that will tell you that the focus of the US Mint is in the wrong direction. The plan is to make more junk than the USPS. The post office is making wallpaper and the mint is making ballast. I quit a long time ago with the US Stamps and a few years ago with trying to keep up with the US Coins.
Peter trying to find proper B/S/T rules? see nothing sorry just posting a opinion on US mint sets please send links to conform?
It appears your original post could be interpreted as an offer to sell your proof sets. FWIW, I did not take it that way.
I like them. One of the few things as a kid you could pick up and hold. I have them all in OGP from 55 (box and flat) on. Then pieced together coin by coin from 55 to 50. Then started working on 42. Just need that 42 Walker.
Thanks Lake never sold a coin in my life since trade dollar set in in 1978. I'm sorry for any confusion
I started buying Proof Sets from the mint in 1959 when the One Cent piece changed, don't have them all. Military service, marriage, kids, etc. got in the way sometimes. I think I have all of them now from about 1980. But, I'm not getting the junk stuff.
