I only posted that so I could say I told you so. Or, I can roll over and play dead later.

Are you trying to tell us that all those Franklin Mint colorized coins will increase in value?

They already have these as a novelty but not colorized by the Mint.

I will not buy any colorized coin not at or under face or melt value. :vomit:

Found a few on eBay. How do you suppose those would go over in “Post Your Latest Acquisitions?” ROFL

Yes, I think I'd prefer plain .999 ASE over a colorized motif, T&A or not! :D I'm definitely passed the laughing stage of life. ;) In short, that means I'm an old guy. laughhard.gif

CoinCorgi Tell your dog I said hi!

Will this crap kill numismatics just like the post office issuing too many stamps killed stamp collecting?

    I don't think so.

I think collecting pre-jumping-the-shark coins (i.e. what we are currently collecting) will continue forever.

I think the demand would be large. But, it would be artificial since those buying that crap would be the same people that keep circus midway barkers in business. And error detection would take on a whole new focus.

You've never seen a heads and tails novelty coin (token) with a naked woman on it? They are usually made of brass.

Ah, good. Glad you found them. I don't think they would go over otherwise I would have posted a photo.

I hear that but it hasn't slowed me down. :)

I collected stamps my entire life and the USPO killed my interest. I stopped in 2000. There seem to be a lot of concurring remarks in that community. A person doesn't want several blank pages in his stamp album.

I agree that coin collecting as we know it will never die. There are the staples of coin issues that we will always want.

This post should be in the AT thread. The mint wants to do the artificial toning for you.

If this keeps up I will have to get more cottage cheese containers.

Exactly, if the design is lacking you could put all the color on the coin you wanted and it'll still be ugly.
