I read somewhere that they weren't going to do a true high relief b/c they wouldn't be stackable. Not sure why that matters. I guess the planchet has to be thinner since they're keeping the weight, but not including any Cu. So maybe they can't get the rim high enough and the coin would wobble on her head or on the eagle. Also, as for waiting.... Better to try to get one on your own than wait for a 2x premium.
Is it likely that the US Mint releases a proof variant of these in the Fall or Winter? Last year, the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII ASE came out in November. The BU regular ASE came out in July, with the proof regular ASE out in October. But, these are ASEs that come out every year, whereas the Peace and Morgan dollars are commemoratives. Or is that the typical commemorative schedule for BU and proof strikes?
