I was never a big fan of the Barber series either, but it's kinda growing on me. I have some for my Type set and, well, they aren't as bad as my first impression of them. I liked the toning on this one, but I eventually sold it because I didn't like the thumb print on the obverse. 1909 Barber Quarter by JPeace$ posted Mar 14, 2019 at 6:43 PM 1909 Barber Quarter reverse by JPeace$ posted Mar 14, 2019 at 6:43 PM
okbustchaser, you have shown us some very, very nice halves from your incredible collection. I am curious to know, which are your top 5 favorites from the many examples you have shown us? .
Thanks Eduard, (and everyone else) for all the complements. As for picking favorites...which of your children do you love the best? Actually, the 1808, 1810, 1820, 1853, and 1865-S would be among my favorites although I do also like the expensive years like 1794 and 1815.
Now on to what many (although I prefer both bust series) people consider the most attractive design in US mint history...Walking Liberty Halves.
As a set, bust halves...first coins in the collection were WWII era walkers. The 21 and the 29-S are from my parent's birth years.
No, just never really had any interest in coins which were meant to serve as collectables instead of money. Of course, that didn't keep me from continuing the set after Kennedys were no longer minted for circulation.
