Let's not get carried away...maybe 100X easier. I could FIND either one. I just choose not to spend what it would take to acquire them at this time.
I was also hoping to see a '36 with reeded edge...... But, the 1815 makes up for it. Beautiful coin. BTW, which is actually scarcer, the 1815 CBH or the 1836 R.E ?
I would guess based on what I see for sale that they are about the same...1815 might be a little more scarce, but being necessary for a popular set it is much more in demand. Actually IMO neither is truly scarce...either can usually be picked up at any major show.
It's nice, but the pic does a good job of covering an old cleaning. It would surprise me if it straight graded at PCGS or NGC. It was in a white ANACS 55 holder when I bought it.
I am a bit jealous about the 1842... still need a “no motto” seated half for my type set. Is it graded? AU58? It’s a beautiful coin, no matter the grade...
Once upon a time it was in a PCGS AU-55 holder. It's now raw--like all the others. I simply prefer them that way. More pics for today...
