    Hi all,
Today I finally went out with my new Minelab CTX 3030 Metal Detector.
I can say that I need much more practice on using it!
I did pretty good for a 6 hour hunt 6am to 12pm 1 Silver in the hole!
    Found the following:
    18 Quarters
    6 Nickels
    8 Clad Dimes
    1 Silver Dime
    29 Cents

Here are great examples of Environmental Damage aka Exposure to the Elements which give Quarters, Nickels and Dimes that crazy copper look.
Many times new members think they found coins struck in copper when they are not :(
    From my finds today -

Where did you search? Central Park or outside of New York?

I have a New York City Detecting Permit. Central Park is not allowed to be searched. But there is a list provided by the NYC Parks Department of the parks that allow detecting. There is a pretty big park where I live in Lower Manhattan called the FDR Park.
See my first picture.. that's the Williamsburg Bridge and the East River.. that's where I started my hunt this morning.
I also have a separate Long Island Permit for the beaches that are allowed there.
