Are you sure it's PMD? It may have happened in the ejection process at the Mint. Half the coin was ejected and then cut in half when the next coin came along. lol
Oh no, why did it have to be a large date 1828 dime? Though I will commend whoever cut it because that is a remarkably straight cut when you consider what kind of tools were available in the early 1800s.
Not sure of the date on the buffalo, but old hoopster is probably correct, 1922, 32 or 33. Do you think I could sell it on ebay and retire?
It's obvious that this is a prank. A nice one except that the cut off portion just left of 1828 on the obverse is not cut off on the reverse view.
