Man that is still an amazing finds. Im surprised the amount of coins that you're finding. Have you found some diamond rings? Discovery is endless. Whew.

 

Im Amazed by this hobby of yours. You dont even have to buy any coins at all. That is sure more than crumbs. Tax free money.

 

I found a gold ring which has blue diamond chips in it. I asked my gold guy if the diamonds are worth anything: "Not if you are selling." At least he's honest.
No diamond rings but 4 golds. The big one has the chips. It wasn't broken until I dropped it on my porcelain tile. Crappy 10K mixed with nickel silver.
I thought it might be mixed with titanium which is brittle, but the gold guy said no.

 

WOW!!! Just crazy discovery. Now I know why people do metal detecting. It's probably addicting. The gold has to have some melt value.

 

Im having 2nd thoughts about coin collecting. You get them free and I have to pay for them. Lol

 

Well, I haven't found too many good coins, because the areas I am hitting are mostly modern, recent drops.
I have a 1944 Merc, a 1964 rosie, (Prob a D I'll have to look) a 1944-S nickel,
my oldest wheaties 1929 1934 1938-D and 1943 S. I have a bunch from the 40's and 50's. A number of 1951-S which are low mintage in comparison.
1939 nickel, and some 53-S and 54-S nickels. A few of the half dollars are lower mintage. I'm just really looking for money and any silver rings or old coins I find by accident are a bonus. I can't spend 4 hours in a field and come back with 1 environmentally damaged wheatie or Merc.
I like finding a lot of targets and very often it is 100 or more.

Man that is just crazy. You're actually have more old coins that me having to pay for them. On 2nd thought there is now way I will do metal detecting. I have seen people fight for rights of certain areas. LOL>>

If I lived by the beach, you do better with jewelry, but the coins are destroyed from the sun, sand and salt water. (Except the recent drops.) It's just for fun.
But it is fun when you get a good signal and pop up a silver ring or a dollar coin.

 

I'm sorry. I was making an attempt at failed humor. Actually I don't have that particular one but I do like mine just fine.

 

I have one half that size and it's getting full.
