Three months ago I purchased a Julia Soaemias/Juno upgrade solely because of its weight, 3.9g, which is fairly heavy for coins of her. I happened to like the portrait a bit more than the old one too. I did break it out of the plastic tomb but the seller's pics were much better than my phone too. Julia Soaemias (219 - 222 A.D.) AR Denarius O: IVLIA SOAEMIAS AVGVSTA, draped bust right. R: IVNO REGINA, Juno standing right, holding scepter & palladium. Rome Mint 20mm 3.89g RIC 237, RSC 3, BMC 41 NGC Ch VF
Very nice! That's an early issue for her. Here's mine -- it weighs quite a bit less. I like the Palladium on it. Julia Soaemias, AD 218-222. Roman AR Denarius, 2.65 g, 18.6 mm, 5 h. Rome, AD 218. Obv: IVLIA SOAEMIAS AVGVSTA, bare-headed and draped bust right. Rev: IVNO REGINA, Juno, veiled, standing right, holding scepter and Palladium. Refs: RIC 237; BMCRE 41-43; Cohen 3; RCV 7718; CRE 464.
@Mat........Yes a very nice looking portrait! I bought this one because of its dark toning....RICIV#241 As far as I know there are three variants, this one having the star in the lower left field.....Minted between 220-222ad
