Hello Sheila, I have processed the coins that you submitted for attribution in a package postmarked October 17, 2016. The 1983 Lincoln cent is 1983 1¢ WDDO-011 which is a new listing for my files. Congratulations on the new listing. It will be illustrated on the appropriate page of my website the next time that I update the site. I also plan to use it in my Varieties Notebook column in Coin World. It is scheduled to be illustrated in the January 16, 2017 installment of that column. I hope that this information helps. Good luck with all of your collecting endeavors. Sincerely, John A. Wexler
Congratulations!! Send it in to ANACS. I just got my 1913-D Buffalo Nickel DDR-001 Discovery piece back from them. They listed it as "Discovery Piece".
I would also recommend sending it to ANACS - Mr. Wexler can do it for you, in fact. But you will need to fill out the ANACS submission form. I had my sole discovery piece holdered like that - not worth a lot, but I'll never sell it as it looks great on my desk. Congratulations!
"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not: unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent." Calvin Coolidge Congratulations on your discovery and your persistence!
Great job finding a new ddo! Looks to be a class 1. Goes to show there are major varieties out there to be discovered. What did state is it in?
Congratulation Sheila. You have a good eye and your persistence has paid off as I'm sure it will again in your future searches. You would want to get that slabbed as soon as possible as I'm sure the hunt will begin once the article is published.
Thank you so much guys! Yes, I have worked very hard for that. I have spent hours and hours going through boxes and boxes of coins.
