Looks like you were right! It sure got close though and its still gaining, maybe it will rise go over 1021.50 by the close in Europe today. Based on what we are seeing I feel gold still has a way to go, and would bet silver goes ape (insert poo explicative here) for some time yet... the next 45 days will be a wild ride for PMs and across markets.

Were the 2009 ASEs production figures unchanged this week?
There was also an unchanged week near the end of August as well. Any reason for this? Are the weeks with a lack of mintage updates due to the Mint for a given product being down for maintenance, accounting, etc. or working on something else during these periods? Any ideas? Do you see unchanged figures periodically like this as I have?

it depend on those few big dealers. if they do not buy any during that week. the mint simply do not report.

Ok. So there do exist production figures but what was produced goes unreported due to lack of / no sales of a given product for the week. This gets more to the issue I always ask about knowing actual mintage at any given update. Thanks.

Krispy, I've been working on a spreadsheet for the FS mintages. One thing I've noticed is that every 10 weeks the Mint reports "negative" numbers for most issues.

The only thing I can guess is that the Mint posts it's "net returns" once every 10 weeks. I only hope this isn't the result of dealer cherrypicking.
I don't know if this is the same for the ASE, but it's an interesting theory.

This is great to hear about your tracking the FS coins. I agree there's something unaccounted for or unclear about the figures being released. I want to assume that dealers couldn't get away with cherry picking the ASEs/AGEs the way you might be able to with individual boxed commemoratives or special products. I'm thinking the dealers have to buy ASEs/AGEs in large quantities. So I wonder if returns would need to be in full, not sorted through? Also I doubt they could get away with doing that too often without messing up the numbers and straining business relations with the Mint.

The return policy probably allows for a degree of exploitation by smaller dealers of special products or commems, but hopefully the Mint is or has learned to account for this in production and accounting. I'd like to see these results published as reflected in sales instead of only sales expressed in mintage numbers.

Let us know as you track the FS coins if you detect any patterns or indicators about how the mintage numbers are reported and whatnot. This is a very interesting topic and beneficial to these mintage/production threads.

Thanks! The only way I know how to do it is by going through the weekly history for each issue and fat-fingering the numbers (very time consuming).

I made a prediction earlier that the Anna Harrison may become the new "Key" to the series with final Proof/Unc sales in the neighborhood of 6800/3700, respectively.

This takes into account (among other things) seasonal trends, popularity, and price increases. We'll see...could go lower! :D

I just ordered a second set...to put my money where my mouth is.

Are these the "W" uncirculated figures or proofs? I know I have not seen any of the Silver Eagles this year with the W mintmark being sold. I am holding out hope to get one or two or ten.
