Thanks for the comments yakpoo. I do follow your input throughout the threads since first encountering you and respect your opinions and jests. You see, it's 'quality over quantity' that warms my heart and why I disagree with the number of posts you reference for validity to your argument regarding this thread. elaine isn't doing anything wrong and I never stated as much, despite my suggesting better record keeping, attention to detail and referencing of data culled from other readily available and accurately published sources. Indeed, I've even praised the continuity with which elaine proceeds with these posts and shared brief conversations from time to time with elaine through these threads. I have nothing against the member nor wish to take over the members work here as you seem to imply I might (like to) do. I do encourage a discourse and ask questions when/where necessary in this and other threads. These comments have been my observation and concern, where few other members have voiced as much, yet I have been promptly admonished for doing so, I am not deterred. Addressing the inaccuracies in elaines figures, asking questions or offering links where others might benefit from the more complete set of data for comparison may be my greatest offering to these threads, but standing up to the objections of members doubting my intention to question the figures or understand the publishing of the figures is also a necessary task of questioning the data as presented in such un-cited fashion in the first place.
Just look at her picture...do you see any "inaccuracies" in Elaine's figure? Seriously though, no one (especially me) doubts your intentions or thinks you want to "take over" Elaine's posts. I'm just wondering if there's a serious problem and, if so, is there anything we can do as a team to improve it.
Thanks green and thanks yakpoo. Overall, I do not think there's any problem in the mintage update threads. I do feel we all need to follow the threads closely to understand the figures and question anything that seems important, out of the ordinary or not obvious to the rest of the forum especially for newbies and those who may just be following along and haven't considered issues related to mintage numbers or sources of such data. I personally would like to understand more about how Mints the world over publish their production figures. Likewise, in any thread, I'd like members to feel compelled to follow up their posts with links and sources of information that would support their comments or perspective. It would offer other members the opportunity to read and consider more objectively the stats or opinions of others' opinions and the information they go by. Thanks again guys.
Here, here...well said. My very first post was to ask Elaine why her mintage numbers for the 2007 Silver Proof set differed from the figures published in the Red Book. Elaine slapped my ears back and pointed out what a stupid question I had asked....I'm happy to let you ask the questions.

Nearly 2 billion rare? Is it necessary to ask? Have you found any of these in circulation yet? If so how many and how early in the year? I know some have gotten them in circulation as mentioned in other CT threads but I'm still waiting for any 2009 Lincolns to appear in my change. So far the only 2009 coins from circulation I've found: 1 x Puerto Rico Quarter and about 10 x Pres and Sac/Nat.Am golden $1 coins (from vending machines). I also won a roll of 2009-P dimes in a CT contest and received those this week.
I certainly hope that you don't SERIOUSLY base your speculative purchases on mintage figures posted on an internet site by an all but anonymous poster who may or may not give a darn what you do with the information. If you think that a couple of million mintage difference in bullion ASE's or slight variations in gold eagle mintages is going to make a bit of difference in their value, then please, feel free to nip on Elaine's heels all you want, pretending that she will EVER give you whatever it is you are expecting from her. You might want to remember (or not, as it spoils your fun) that Elaine (or whatever the poster refered to as Elaine 1970 is really named) isn't your employee OR an official representative of the US or any other mint, and has no need to answer to your demands (or mine, for that matter) on this or any other matter. Have a Krispy day!
You sure nailed that stating the obvious thing, again. You might want to read the concerns being expressed to get the point of what was trying to be explained since your last post, primarily because you seem to be missing it, again. It has everything to do with watching out for inaccuracies, double checking the validity of such anonymous posting and not finding much basis for assisting one's collection and purchases on such data. Although, it is generally possible to verify elaines figures from the sources they are being copied from yet not cited from. :thumb:
it look like the pres. tyler's dollar might be lowest mintage for presidential dollar series. and the american samoa for the quarter series and the professional life for the cent series. that is my own prediction. we could know it by next december. only tyler's dollar is no longer offer from the mint.
It is obvious to everyone but you that Elaine is never going to conform to your wishes for accountability or transparency.
UHR double eagle - 87,069 lincoln proof set - 66,350 clad proof set - 994,095 silver proof set - 459,429 professional life - 191,364 prez set - 594,561 american samoa roll set - 30,404
No, it's obvious to me as well that elaine ignores the common courtesy to post sources along with these figures being *copied* from other published sources. Never say never. I have faith in elaine learning to offer more complete, cited data and to offer greater insight by conversing on these figures when asked about her posts. I'd also like to learn about her intent in maintaining these posts, what first struck her to post them on a regular basis here, how it informs her numismatic interests and if it has any effect on her collections. However, it is also obvious to me that you only wish to argue and I haven't the time to deal with that in this forum since you do not seem constructive in your discourse. I have, its in various threads if you read and look for it instead of trying to spar about it. If you need the links provided just ask for it. That's what I asked for from elaine in past posts and in other threads when I became interested in elaines posts. Besides, you chimed in after I posed an open question to the thread addressed to elaine who offers this information to a discussion forum and should have a good idea about the inquiry. It was also open to anyone else who might know, about how and when the Mint decides to publish their production data. The question remains open, but so far no one seems to have an answer, nor speculation on the matter that they want to discuss. I doubt it's a huge enlightening answer but it seems an interesting topic related to the the figures posted in this thread. I don't mind that no one is interested in discussing it, but it certainly was not designed to turn into a argument suspecting debasement of elaine, which you have maintained when you ran to her defense.
