i wonder what club or coin store or trade show you visited in new york city?. it seem new york city keep closing down coin store and the trade show only shown staten island. one place. the rest were gone. p.s. on the subject lincoln 4 pc proof set. the mint allow maximum of 5 set per family. so i can not buy 100 set.
Yeah, there aren't so many shops in the city sadly, probably too hard to maintain rents and make a profit dealing coins. You can entertain yourself drooling at the Stacks showroom in midtown. There is also the Brooklyn Gallery of Coins, Inc. but I have never been out there. Also, some old coins and currency turns up in the few remaining weekend flea markets on W24th or W17th Streets. I mostly work online unless traveling to another town or city where I can go to a regular dealer/coinshop. My only club is CT.
is there a lot of coins display at their showroom?. is the showroom located at the ground floor or at what floor?. are they gonna entertain us?. what is CT club?. and the flea markets on the w24th or w17th sts. what avenue between those streets?.
Stacks is located on West 57th Street, ground floor. Yes, you can visit. But it's a pretty serious place for coins. Check out the link in the earlier post. CT club: I just meant Coin Talk is my club. There is a flea market on the weekend in a small lot w17th/6th ave. W24th street off 8th Ave. occasionally has an outdoor flea market, not sure how regularly. Also, West Village has weekend blocked off streets filled with vendors and occasionally you can spot old coins, usually worn and heavily toned morgans or peace dollars, kennedy halves and odd assortments of circulated silver certificate notes turn up in the flea markets. Also have noticed small jewelry shops in the outer boros tend to carry coins in their display cases from time to time, probably trade ins from customers. It's fun to spot coins in non-coin shop places throughout the city since the shops are non existent. On the local convention scene, the NYINC will be here soon enough in January 2010. Maybe you should get into the city for that one. Not sure if I will be in town that weekend to attend due to holidays.
i wonder why the NYINC is conducted only once a year. why not four times a year?. i have been there two times. last year and this year. it seem expensive. just bought some bullion coins. and also the westchester coin show and the huntington coin show. are those two monthly shows gone too?. i should have move to some other state.
NYINC is just an annual show. I haven't been to the others you listed. And like everything else in the city, there's a price to pay Try this website for lots of coin show information: Coin Shows.com They list shows by State.
nowadays everything is changed. unlike years before. i went to coin stores. chat with the owner or seller. look at all the coin display and choose what ever you like. now. it is just like playing video game. everything were shown at the screen. and you buy and chat it online.
Yes, it has gotten more exacting and technical. It's good to have the forum here to discuss and compare.
i just miss the old fashion ways of doing coin business. anyway. thank you very much krispy for your time and information. i have to go to sleep now. bye.
james polk dollar roll directly send to us and free shipping. it sound good. but the mint stated that those rolls might contain circulated coins. what's that mean?. anyone?.
5 pc chronicle set is $55.95 4 pc lincoln proof set is $7.95 100 pc (2 roll) professional life is $8.95
An increase of 175,000 ASE... over night! since your last update at 8:50pm? How are these being calculated? let alone being produced? and only an increase of 2000 AGEs since then? Such a big difference from update to update and between the two types of bullion. I'd quite like to hear an explanation of the numbers, production, reporting figures... 8.19 8:50pm 2009 american eagle bullion one ounce silver - 17,739,500 2009 american eagle bullion one ounce gold - 801,500 8.20 4:12 pm 2009 american eagle bullion one ounce silver - 17,914,500 2009 american eagle bullion one ounce gold - 803,500
