i wish i could but i like to see a new record high. and i am still waiting my precious one piece free american eagle silver dollar from magazine subscription. man that 2009 piece is one out of 28,000,000 silver eagle. i might put it in my wallet. so i can see it everyday. no need to worry its condition. because that piece is always a bullion value.

 

Got an email from the mint today saying that the Silver Proof Set would be ready to ship in four weeks. Cant wait to get it. So it appears mid July is what they are aiming for on shipping. The email said price would be $52.95 plus shipping.

To clarify -- as Elaine wrote, that's rolls. Divide by two for the number of "sets" were sold.

you are right. formative years roll contained 25,961,800 pieces of lincoln cent. that is too much.

 

american eagle bullion 1 oz gold production at 632,500 and silver at 13,024,500. the mint stop allocation to dealers. that's mean the figures won't increase a lot till end of this year. the mint might concentrate on other gold and silver products. it is time to do that.

 

Elaine, why do you count number of pieces when LP2 set is meant to be kept as 1 unit? Not 2 rolls or 100 coins. No one is buying these sets to make 100 collections.

 

there is no standard rule to count as a piece or roll. do what you want to do. as most of us know is that rare single piece is the most important that count.

 

silver proof set will be available on july 17, 2009.

but i wonder why so many silver and gold eagle were sold. i think many of them are not collectors. they are bullion investors.
