bullion coins affected by mint new products. american eagle bullion gold and silver coins were affected by the mint direct sell to its customers. the new product with mint mark (w) were among the popular items for collectors. i see downward mintages for uncirculated gold and silver bullion coins.
mintages for am eagle platinum anyone have the mintages for 1999 and 2000 proof am eagle platinum 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz?. thanks.
The law still says that Sac dollars must make up 1/3 of the dollar coin production. With the President dollars nearing 600 million and the sacs just below 5 million the mint had better get moving on the Sackies. Or, are they waiting, hopeing that the law gets changed?
gradually stop production the u.s. mint should gradually stop production of prez dollars. cause very very few people use them. and the collectors already got what they wanted. hundred of millions susan anthony, sac dolars as well as prez dollars sitting at the mint or banks. they make a mistake again. but still they make money.

platinum proof mintages where did you got those mintages?. your figures have many minor discrepancies with numismatic news final mintages. numismatic news figures doesn't have 1999 and 2000 proof mintages. i just copied from u.s. mint sales figures on those years.
I got those from a post by someone that follows the platinum mintages. They are close enough for what I buy, the 2004 coins are the keys for each denomination.

How long does it normally take for the mint to release these figures? Are all the first spouse coins distributed already?
mintages the mint will not announce this one. see if numismatic news might. but it might take long time. my guess is 21,500 proof to 18,500 unc ratio.
mintage for buffalo it might take a while for the mint to announce buffalo mintages. but numismatic news will more or less tell you each week figure both proof and bullion or unc.
So far I think the Mint has sold about 21,000 proof and 44,000 or so bullion buffalo coins. I notice today the the Mint placed the date for the Platinum coins to go on sale as July 17th so they will be available shorty. The 4 coin set for Proof in only $2949.95. I can just see the lines forming for that one, LOL. That is one expensive set!
I know this is probably cause to start a new thread, but speaking about the Buffalo proof and unc coins - why dosen't the mint just sell all the coins they produce through the mint site. They started doing it last year with the UNC American Eagles - why not continue with the buffalos?
buffalo gold the mint have to experiment how good the product is before going further. like introducing the w unc am eagle. if thing goes smoothly. they will certainly issue w unc bufflao.
