latest report from the mint: as of november,2008

    van buren dollar - (P) 51,520,000, (D) 50,960,000 (final)

    alaska quarter - (P) 251,800,000, (D) 254,000,000 (final)

    jefferson nickel - (P) 279,840,000, (D) 345,000,000

i guess the 2009 prez and sac dollars were be around or low at 35,000,000 for each of them. 35M for mint mark P and 35M for mint mark D. the high side might be around 40,000,000. so the total mintage will be around 175,00,000 to 200,000,000 pieces a year.

american eagle silver bullion one dollar coin hit 17,750,000 as of dec. 4 report. while the one ounce american eagle gold bullion sold some 637,500 pieces. silver dollar will be a record all time high in mintage.

they are mass produced, like almost everything today except for the finer things in life. Everyone seems to be saying that in 100 years or so that they will be valuable, well I've got news for you THEY WON'T. If I may make 2 points: 1; 100 years ago, coins were made with relatively low mintages compared to today, 2; these are not silver and not desirable. So much like the state quarters, don't fall for this. They're essentially worth one dollar.
