The novelty Lincoln Kennedy Cent? I got mine for less than $5.00 at a flea market. They are common and found on ebay.

That is an impression on dried adhesive.

That was my initial impression. But then I got caught up in what I was looking at. Initially I thought it was double struck, but then why would the second impression orientation be in the opposite direction ? Also both seem to have depth/dimension. Also not pictured but also present on the opposite side of the coin is lincoln profile oriented in a reverse direction. Thoughts ?

Obvious.. Any impression would be backwards. Taken 2 Cents and whack them hard with a hammer. It will leave an incused backwards image of the other coin.

So are we talking impression on dried adhesive tape or whacking 2 coins together with a hammer?

    It happens with both instances.
