See the "upload a file" button below where you type your response, and just to the right of the button used to post your reply? That's it, and should be pretty much self-explanatory, but if you get stuck, someone can walk you through.

Hello, I also have a silver colored penny that I have had for years. I worked at a bank for many many years and we used to recieve coins from our distributor in bags that we had to wrap for our customers. Within one or two years of 1976 (it has been so long that I can't remember the exact year but know it was close) I was in the process of opening one of the bags and at the bottom of the bag stuck in the corner was this cent. I saved the coin and replaced it with one of my own cents. The two photos I am sharing are deceiving because they give a gold color to the coin around the edges when there is none. I am thinking it is coming from my camera. I have tried to weigh the coin and all I have is just a cheap letter weigher that you used to be able to buy to weigh letters with. It does look to be half way between the 0 and the 5 gram. Thoughts please, because of the way in which I have come across the coin originally? Thank you.
I would also like to add to the post and let you know that these coins that we wrapped for our customers came from a bank that we ordered coin from regularly. When we emptied the bags for wrapping it was common practice to look deep inside those canvas bags to make sure that all the coins were out. This penny had remained inside the bag in a far corner, otherwise I might never have even seen it. Also, if I remember correctly, it did not come into play with the actual penny count in the bag - it was an extra. Though not highly unusual for a bag to have one or two extra cents.......99% of the time they were accurate.
Sorry been super busy. But I don't know anything about yours or mine but I am going to go have it look at buy a coin grader when I get a good free second. And when I do I'll get back to you asap to tell you what it is we may have.. thank you and sorry again for taking so long to reply..
No cents were officially minted in silver, so chances are this is someone else's own work (tampered with pennies and then they ended up elsewhere). There is information about literally every coin and every year on the internet. Silver cents have never been minted in the United States. And the year provided would have been about 12 years after silver stopped being used in coins (at least in 90% composition).
