You'd think for that kind of money they'd throw in free shipping... Not just "Economy Shipping", either.

Seriously..... When a high roller auctions a coin like that, why would they not enlist one of the premier auction houses?? Or is there a scoundrel afoot here?

Just above the BIN, it says "You save: $1,372,600.00 (20% off)! :singing::hungry:

Hell, I saved the entire $6,863,000.00 (plus the $15.00 shipping). On the other hand, I won't earn the $100 in ebay bucks. :(;)

What am I missing? Is that some R8 variety? Even at high retail it's worth under 100k.

They are just showing the coin to create interest. It will probably show up in a large auction at some point.

You would have to have A LOT more money than brains to buy into that that coin. PCGS graded one MS-66 that is clearly better than this piece. It brought $646,250 at auction.

    Sounds like he's a modern P.T. Barnum.

You run into to dealers like this who charge way more than anybody else and way more than the catalog listings or auction results. Somehow they stay in business, but it's always been a mystery to me. I didn’t even try that when I was a dealer.

Now that I have gotten into hammered British coins and ancients, you run into more of these guys. They tell you the catalog is wrong as they try to charge you two, three or even four times as much as the listings.

I wonder if "the catagog is wrong" when they are buying? If it's worth four times the catalog, then it must be worth two and three times cataglog when they are buying ... right? :greedy:

Just advertising Im sure. The seller would probably entertain offers in the high 5 figures, but then again it is ebay...
