Hi I received this coin as change today and it appears to be a copper quarter? Can someone please help me identify if it's just damaged or actually a rare coin? 20170822_165813.jpg 20170822_170038.jpg 20170822_170146.jpg 20170822_165813.jpg 20170822_170038.jpg 20170822_170146.jpg 20170822_165813.jpg 20170822_170038.jpg 20170822_170146.jpg

  3. Its just a really tarnished state quarter. Nothing unusual or rare about it.... Sorry.

Sorry, but it just suffered environmental damage after it left the mint. It may have been subject to high heat, but copper colored discoloration can also occur on coins that have been buried (metal detector finds) or exposed to chemicals. Regardless of what caused it, it's only worth a quarter
