Unsearched rolls on Ebay?

Do you know what is my absolute favorite? When there is a roll of dimes or pennies with a Seated Liberty dime or Indians Heads on the ends and it says "untouched." Those always have the laziest attempts at resealing the rolls. No such thing has an "unsearched" coin.

They were a pleasant surprise in what I believe was a legitimate unsearched roll.

Ya know I had the same suspicion and had buyers remorse for the week I waited for them to come in. But all in all I'm happy with the surprise I got. After much reading on here these rolls have to be an anomaly and I'm glad they were. I'll be more cautious in the future but I'd buy from this guy again.

I assume you mean "coins" as in "rolls"? If so, and unless only speaking of the often-ridiculous eBay offerings described, with all due respect, the claim is false.

With all due respect to you as well, nothing here truly suggests said roll to be real. In fact, it very much sounds like it was a way for the seller to liquidate lesser material. Certain sellers have also been known to fill rolls only after bidding ends, ensuring the buyer receives coins more reasonably valued closer to the price paid while still leaving the seller ahead of the game. True original rolls are nowhere as common as such sellers on eBay would have buyers believe, and most that do remain are solid date/mint OBWs. Even old time collectors who rolled lesser coins rarely mixed them up to give such a "variety", which is pretty much what unfamiliar modern buyers generally expect. You would be wise to take this all as a learning experience and to avoid future "unsearched" purchases.

It was fun but I'm with you. I didn't know weather I'd laugh or cry when I split the rolls open...and neither extreme came to fruition and, thus, was not worth the remorse I felt after I clicked "confirm payment." However, and I'm no rolling expert, the ends were pretty uniform and looked to be crimped evenly and tightly with old bank stamped paper (I saved them because they looked cool lol). But none of that disproves your point. I'm sure there are rolling cons/counterfeits(?) as well. I'll stick to the standard CRH from here out.

Talking about eBay, and yes, I mean rolls. Still, it is nearly impossible for any roll of coins to not be searched at one poin during their life, sure some key dates may slip through, but they have still been searched.
