20+coins a day is a lot. That is probably a grand a day or more on E-Bay. You must have quite a collection I just know for myself I consider it rude to pay "when one gets around to it". Personally, I don't have to check to see if I have won I get an e-mail. Since you get over a hundred important e-mails a day it may very well be easy to miss one or twenty. Good luck on your collection.
Some of you think I am a bad buyer if I pay at night, or on coins won on Friday nights, paying on Sunday. I disagree, but fair enough. Hopefully you have it spelled out in your auction coins must be paid for within 10 minutes. I look at it as a Seller point of view. I view sellers who do not give buyers a few days as inconsiderate and having bad selling practices. You always want to do all you can to please your customer. I have given as much as 2 weeks to customers to pay before. Not a big deal.
Those that cannot stay within the rules of the forum will take a forced timeout if they keep it up. Treat each other with respect - or else.
I don't know kinda sound like a few feathers have been ruffled. Here is my take for what it is worth. I didn't see posts saying people had to pay in 5 minutes. But all I'm saying is with a cell phone and eBay app you can. But I really don't think anyone is demanding 5 minutes. I doubt anyone would criticize someone paying in 24 hours. Even 48. And yes I do understand that while payment is not demanded in 48 hours by eBay I personally think eBay is trying to send a very strong message with automatic cases after 48 hours. I can take the hint. I also understand being very busy and being important. Which is why I suggested that if you are too busy to check inside 48 hours as a rule and not an exception then there are probably more appropriate venues out there. I just don't agree with the "I'm so busy and so important that eBay needs to conform to my, not me to it." Attitude some posters are displaying. If you swear too much or like personal attacks then this coin forum is probably not the right venue to post in. Everyone has rules and I have found life to be easier when you conform to the rules rather then try to make the rules conform to you.
Do the people who are so offended by folks taking 1 or 2 days to pay also offended if a seller takes that long to ship after payment is made?
I agree with this sentiment. When I purchase something on eBay (even if it was a snipe at an odd hour of the day), I have never paid more than 8 hours after I won the item. As an occasional seller of items, I can tell you I appreciate those who pay immediately as it allows for items to be prepared for shipping all at once instead of over several days. My definition of "prompt" is within 24 hours. Of course, emergencies do happen, and I understand that sometimes people are not able to be around a computer or phone at all times. Still, as a buyer it is your responsibility to pay for an item ASAP.
I'm one of the quick payers. It's rare that I don't pay within 15-30 minutes of winning the coin at auction. I've bid on the coin, so I'm watching in hopes I win. Same goes for when I win an auction at one of the big auction houses. I pay those invoices within the very morning I receive them. I don't expect people to behave the same way. It's just my style. In my mind, I've committed to the purchase by bidding, the least I could do is pay for it promptly. I agree with Brandon that in a general sense, when talking about eBay, 24 hours is prompt. I don't understand why you would wait to pay for something you wanted. It's not like leaving the money in your accounts would earn you a tremendous amount of interest! If a seller takes 2 days to ship, no big deal to me. In my mind, this is the small stuff so why worry about it. In business, cash flow is KING!
