Unknown need help

not sure if this coin is a pattern. Obverse has flowing hair capped looking right with "Republica Argentina Libertad". Reverse has SL eagle with "United States of America". 10 D under the eagle. Larger than a quarter and appears to be made of brass or copper- bearing metal. This has been puzzling me and others for a long time.

Well, you're describing (from the size) an Argentine 1 Peso obverse (minted 1957-1962) and a US $10 Liberty Head Eagle reverse minted 100 years before the Argentine coin. I'm....not confident that what we'll come up with is a real coin here.

 

I think he's talking about this counter token. Supposedly it was used in the US, with that said, I'd like to know when and where? I'm just sayin' I've never heard of it other than ebay.

Go to Google, then Images, and type in "spielmarke;" you will see many game tokens utilizing partial designs from U.S. coins.
