The first penny you show looks like 3 '98's that I have found in the last 2 months... I thought it was after mint damage originally until I found two more... It looked to me that the outer 1/8th inch or so of the coin was just smeared around into the face of the coin... The remainer of the obverse was just very weakly struck... I basically decided I didn't care if it was an error or not, it was just too ugly to keep... ... The last one I found looked just like yours for that matter...
Yeah, more like it... My latest is below... Obverse very similar to the one above, but the reverse looks more like a clash...
unknown date I was really curious about the AM touching, yet the FG is really close the the memorial buildig. Yours are pretty similar to mine. How did you figure out they were all 1998's?:smile
I'm pretty sure that no date wheatie is the mysterious 1943 copper, mintless coin struck while they were cleaning the dang steel crap off the dies:smile:smile:smile guess we'll never know:crying:
Well the damage or error was more to the left and upper left... hard to tell in the picture, but the 98 can just be made out in this one, and both of the others that I sent back into circulation were very similar... I could just make out the date, but liberty was about half missing and 'in god we' was missing... B
