    Hello,

while going through my collection I found few coins I have no idea from which country they are. I tried using World Coins books and detect by country emblems, but didn't have success. Any idea?

    Thanks.

Just quick n' off the cuff, before I step away:

#1 are both modern Thailand. @coin_nut can help you date those.

#2 might be Saudi Arabia, I think, but I'm not totally sure (or Yemen?)

I get an Egyptian vibe on the coins in #3, but am not sure.

#4 is early Israel (not like ancient Israel, but early in the modern state of Israel).

Where's the other side of #5? Looks Ottoman Turkish to me, at a glance.

#6 is Palestine, from the WW1-era British Mandate.

#4 and #6 are kinda nice. Not high-dollar, I suspect, but nice.

(I don't have time to look 'em up right this second, 'cause I've gotta go somewhere, though I can help with that later if you haven't found 'em listed).

Thanks, WB2. Looks like I was fairly close, but I'm embarrassed by misattributing #6 as Palestine. Forgot there were Egyptian milliemes as well.

Of course I was running hastily, off the top of my head.

Thanks. You guys are amazing. I was able to detect around 1200 coins so far (left from my grandfather) but these were just too difficult for me. I have some, so if you have time, thanks for the help in advance.

And the least ones. I have now about 1200, only these I could not put in my database. Thank you in advance and thank you for your time for the last coins, I appreciate it very much.

Are you posting the new coins to show them or are you asking us to identify them also?

    :)

I am trying to identify them. Especially ones with arabic lettering.

Go to numista.com and do an advanced search. Use diameter and date (Arabic numbers are easy to learn, I’m sure you learned them already). It’ll make a huge difference. Wenn du Fragen hast, sag mir mal Bescheid.

Thanks, but although I can read the date, I have no idea which country I have to search for. It is easier for some israeli and egyptian coins, but for the rest I have only arabic lettering which means nothing to me :(

Du hast vllt nicht verstanden. Meinetwegen. Mit nur dem Wert und denn diameter erreichst du viel. Nach einer Weile lernst du welche Münzen haben welchen Grafiken.

The first coins in that link have The Great Sphinx on them. That's a huge clue. You know where the Sphinx is, don't you? ;)

It's not really fair to ask us to ID dozens of coins for you at a time. We can help with one or two, sure, but as others hinted, you're going to need to learn to use tools like Numista, Worldcoingallery, etc, yourself.

Practice. If you get stuck on a few, OK, ask, but post them one or two at a time. Preferably here, so we don't have to click offsite to see them.

You might even end up enjoying it, who knows. :)

The ones with Sphinx are not a problem, more these which are completely covering in arabic lettering. But thank you anyway, will try again.

Yeah, it takes some work. Arabic is tough for me.

... so is figuring out how and/or why @Seattlite86 suddenly lapsed into German partway through Post #13. ;)

Well, he comes from Germany, so I thought I’d get more practice in.
