I like this particular coin and would have given it a "10" if it was the nice DDO found on on that date. The series overall doesn't do much for me, tho.

Beautiful coin! I gave it an 8 bc there's other series I find more attractive. But I have a soft spot for it bc my grandmother gave me my first one.

I gave it a 9. It is a beautiful coin, in a series that we don’t necessarily see from day to day. Absolutely prime example of the series.

Actually a lot easier to build it in Proof. The coins are much more available.

A couple of the proof dates can be a challenge (1865 and 1877) but if one's willing to spend a little more they can be had. In MS, the 1884 and 1885 dates don't come up for auction very often. If one is building an MS set the big question is to spend a little more than you want to get one of those dates or accept that it may take a while before another example becomes available. That said, considering the mintage of only 1000 for both dates, the cost of a nice MS example is surprisingly affordable.

Mintage of 1,700 for the 84, 1,000 for the 85. The 84 is the only one I need for my business strike (not MS) set.

A series I never really got into a pretty example of a common date. I gave it a 6. I probably was being too harsh I’m just in a mood lately

Nice coin! I gave it a 9. I know almost nothing about this series, but this coin is quite attractive to me.
