It's probably safer to call it "Unknown Germanic". Every time I post my "Unknown Germanic" solidus I feel like I'm beating a dead horse, nevertheless, I'll keep exploring different avenues until I can identify the maker with some feeling of certainty. My coin has gone through a number of different auction houses with suggestions that it may be Burgundian or Merovingian. I seriously doubt it's Merovingian since they came well after the Burgundians.
