OMG! this coin has been cleaned so harshly to its death.

 

I was hoping for a badly lit picture until I saw the angled shots.

 

It just needs to be permanently displayed at a certain angle and all is good.

 

That is the greatest thing I'm going to read all week.

 

This coin should be in the Smithsonian!

Ouch. Another coin permanently destroyed.

 

I've got 5 three cent nickels, somewhere, that look just like that. Bought them at a charity auction. I never looked at them before I bid on them, it was a good cause and I collected, so I bid for the cause, not the coins. They were in a manilla envelope when I got them and never even looked at them until a couple of days later. No way I was going to return them, figure I'll donate them to another cause someday.
