    And all of these people who pulled the trigger on these coins were based in the USA. I had maybe one Korean buyer who used an address in Portland, from where they forward packages to Korea (and thereby avoiding the $80 USPS shipping cost).

    The market for graded key-date CONTEMPORARY world coins is probably not fully appreciated by some, for sure...

    Early South Korean coins weren't really appreciated and there is a reason why coins from 1966 - 1970 command such a high premium today.

    South Korea back in those times was not in a good state and these would have been worth a bit of money back then. Early 1, 5, 10 won coins has a tendency to corrode easily just due to the brass metal composition. Coins struck after 1970 had better corrosion resistance. To top this up, mintage are somewhat low compared to today.

    Most of the nicer coin are from travelers or US military who collected such coins before they circulated.
