I had a second Whitman’s Mercury Dime album do I went through some of my junk silver dimes. </p><p><br /></p><p>There are 77 holes in the album and I filled 39 of them, just a half a hair over half of them. In unpacking some of those boxes I have with coins, I ran across a smaller box, 7 x 7 x 3. I knew I had it but here’s the story. </p><p><br /></p><p>Back in 2012 when silver was around $11-$12 an ounce I purchased a some amount of coins. I never really looked at them, until today. He only wanted junk silver pricing and he used plastic sandwich bags. </p><p><br /></p><p>War Nickels in one bag, Quartets in another. The same with halves except 40 and 90% in different bags. Mercs in one bag and Roosevelt’s in another. I filled the Roosevelt album as I only needed 3 coins. I’ll post that later but the Mercury Dimes really were a big surprise. I’m still thrilled.</p><p><br /></p><p>77 coins fill the album and I had 39 of them. I spent the last 3 1/2 hours looking at Mercury Dimes. I double checked the dates and mint marks. And this is the result. Only 1 to buy. </p><p><br /></p><p>I’m sure you can guess it’s the 1916-D but there were all the semi-key dates twice over along with a few key and semi-key dates from other denominations.
