I am super disappointed with the Mint after viewing the 2026 Silver Proof Set that arrived here two days ago. Please notice the black dot below the D in God on the cent. Whether it is on the coin itself or inside the plastic covering is hard to discern, but it is obvious that their quality control needs improvement. Has anyone else had an issue with the set? An aside: The dime is impressive and was my primary reason for buying the set, so in that regard I am pleased.
The mint should replace the set and cover all the shipping charges. Notice I said "should". I don't trust them to do what's right any more.
So if the Mint does continue to strike cents for future use in uncirculated and proof sets…. Can we get legislation enacted to force them to be struck in copper only and ditch the money saving plated zinc foolishness? Rick L.
Yeah, the zinc lobby's already lost their cash cow, they shouldn't put up much of a fight at this point. There's absolutely no reason to continue with that (de)composition.
