    True , but I think most people knew what I meant , by dead presidents and colored , ours is terribly inartistic with muted colors only used to fool counterfeiters . I'd love to go back to our artistic roots like those used in the Educational series and other large notes like the eagle notes , anything but dead politicians .

    Series 481 MPC was issued from 1951 to 1954 in Austria, Belgium, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Morocco, Netherlands, Philippines, Ryukyus, Scotland, Trieste and Yugoslavia.

    Thanks , Though I was living then , I sure don't remember much . For some reason I confused it with the Viet Nam era notes .

    It was my understanding that the first two numbers of the series are the year the notes were produced and the third number (usually 1) represents the first or second issue of that year. Is that correct?

    See how our hobby that we all have passion for there are stories behind every paper money, medal, token, and coin from all over the world. When I read your responses or follow ups not only do I learn but it's like watching the history channel or a class because it's interesting and that just makes this hobby more fun.     MPC was not issued in the US.
