Empty cases will be for sale on eBay for a nominal fee some day when coins start getting put in holes, holders or graded/slabbed. Then the other 4 pc. Proof sets and Lincoln Proof coins will/can be used to recreate Lincoln Coin & Chronicles sets in sold off cases. So if anyone gets spotty cents in the LN6 set, consider not sending them back, you can easily replace cents with the other Proof cents from the 4 pc sets. But it would be harder to get hold of the silver Proof Lincoln coin if you needed that piece.
Interesting, I read on the internet today that the earliest order # from yesterday was 33159xxx & the latest # today is approx. 33219xxx accounting for 60,000 sets sold . That would allow for 20 % of the orders figured in for faulty credit cards or other problems , or could they have more than 50,000 sets ????????
The U. S. Mint is now sold out of the Lincoln Chronicle Set and is now putting peoples names on a waiting list in case any orders bounce back . The Mint also posted an appology on their web site for the way they handled the sale of the Chronicle Set, stating they didn't perform as expected when the Chronicle Set went on sale 10/15 & that many folks were frustrated & inconvenienced while attempting to purchase not only the Lincoln Chronicle Set but also other items from the online catalogue : )
