I don't know what you're getting at but I think the commemoratives available from the US mint are abundant and for the most part pretty sweet. I collect some too. They account for about 15% of my collection. The 2008 Bald eagle set was awesome. I have the 3 coin set in PF-70. I picked up the 1992 Columbus coins ungraded, the 1892 Columbus is in my type set. Also got a MS-64 1920 Pilgrim half for the type set. That is a beautiful coin. I got a couple MS 08 Bald eagle commems for the type set as well, and of course the 82 Washington half in PF and MS.

I too picked up a Lincoln Chronicles set from the mint for $55.95. The 2006 S.F. mint commems are awesome. Got the $5 in MS70 and the $1 in PF ungraded . And several others. I've always thought the commems were an untapped, under appreciated segment of the hobby. There are many beautiful examples. I wouldn't say there's a shortage. I only touched on a few. There are many more that I want. I guess I'm thankful that they go over-looked so I can get them cheaper!
