I have given you a straight answer i said a lamination but somebody is curving the line a little bit. JC
I have backed it up . I explained to you why I said it;s a lamination error and there has been serveral cases of golden dollar lamination errors. and Jello said in his post that he read an article in coin world that said, these coins do have planchet problems . Is that enough back up for you. This is a major magazine I hope that Jello has the issue i will send it to you free of charage with a kennedy 1964 Ms 60 half. Please give me the postage money, that's allKissKissKiss Joe
This is what jello said; "I rember reading in Coin World late in 2000.about the New Golden Dollar having planchet problems That why I posted that." That doesn't sound like he said there is one that exists. The article he's talking about dealt with experimental finishes. And you say that it's a lam. error on a clad coin. I won't take you up on you offer unless you have some pots and pans for sale.
Here you go you want them let me know I'm selling them. There's one slabbed at Heretage a lamination golden dollar do some research on the subject and come back to me.Go back to post 16 and see what Dutch said that he found an example of a lamination error. I have plenty of time. JC JC
.....I was about to go off and vote for Lost Dutch dude's place because of wonderful posts I've read of his. But backed off after they started to ask a lot of question. Then I decided to follow this thread and got lost here, too. WHAT IS AN "OP"? as in But not as extreme as the OP's :eating:
Let me be the fool! Dang! Are we having fun yet? I think I hinted it might be a lamination problem. I have no knowledge but I do have the coin. Jump back fellows as I think we may be walking the line of breaking the rules here. I just came here to escape the lost of the King of POP and find out this is replacing it. Dutchman~I may have to be in Indy next month. How do I find your shop? Promise to wear gloves and I'll let you touch it. Now off to vote:hail:
Latex Oh...you might want to have a pair of latex gloves around as it came out of a Postage Stamp vending machine.
I'm with youbbut I know nothing Hello, JC! Perhaps I should try another photo or something. If I had my old lab scales I might be able to get a weight down to 0.0001 grams, but I don't and it might not be able to prove all the coin is there. Besides, it is circulated so it would not prove much, Right?
Thank you for letting me into the in crowd, LD. My time frame to indy involves an 87 yo aunt, so arrival is not predictable. BUT I was able to locate your shop. ThanX
Of course if you bring it to ducthman it's obvious he's going to say it;s a strike thru. The pics are good enough to tell what it is and you know what i think it is and you thought it was too The coin is a nice error I wish you the best with it dok U Mint. The coin will definetly have a premium on it good luck JC
