I don't know if he counterfeited more than one year, the one I know of is the 1882 $3 gold. The Omega is in the loop of the R in LIBERTY. Since that is on the undated side it might be found on other dates but I don't know of any.
There was a huge and VERY interesting thread on the pcgs forums made by someone claiming to have knowledge of who and how they were made. Basically, the mafia. It involved having an insider in the mint to steal what was supposed to be a canceled die, and they made them using that, which is why they were such a good counterfeit.
I've heard the Mafia. Russians. Vietnamese. Cubans. Lebanese..... Basically, nobody knows for sure. There are as many conspiracy theories around these coins as there are around JFK's assassination. All of them have a hint of truthiness, but no hard facts.
After over an hour with a dark rectangle with a moving white cursor at the upper right of the screen! Very frustrating!

After over an hour with a dark rectangle with a moving white cursor at the upper right of the screen! Very frustrating! Entered this one at 3:43. It is now 4:22 and still "working." Looks like my posts are entered if someone posts after me.
This is a link to an interesting and unsubstantiated claim that the "Omega" counterfeits were commissioned by a gangster. I am the "rookie" authenticator in the "story" who first detected these counterfeits in 1972 while working at the ANA's Certification Service in Washington, DC. The link did not paste! I'll try again.
sOpen Google. Type in 1907 Omega $20 or something similar. Go to page #2 and open this: I actually do have some information on the Omega ... - ChemGod.com This discussion originally appeared on CU and was eventually deleted. UNFORTUNATELY all the posts questioning this story including my telling of how the coins were actually detected has been left out. I'll see what I can find as over the years the "inside" story has been left out by other writers. PS Finally my computer is working as normal here.
WOW....hard to believe the guy made 20,000 of these in the late-1960's/early-1970's. With relatively primative equipment of the time. And apparently 1 guy. Has that been verified ? Imagine what rings of guys could do today with modern equipment.... And since only about 6,000 of these have been graded as of TODAY, I'm not sure what "authenticated" meant when the Omega Man was doing his thing, but it should have appeared as a FLOOD to the high-end dealers seeing the coin (what did they sell for at that time, maybe $500 ?).
