I'm thinking about those who often say "If it hasn't been found yet, it probably does not exist" when referring to older issues. I just got a note from John Wexler and am glad to say I've found two new discovery doubled dies. No photos until he publishes but they are 2000 P Lincoln Cent-WDDR-080 & 2002 P Lincoln Cent WDDR-043. Yes, they are minor but they are still fun. Keep up the good search my friends and eventually you will find something. It likely will not make you rich but you will be continuing to add your discoveries to the catalogs, maybe be in your own spotlight for a few minutes, but soooo much fun. On another note-John is still struggling with Parkinson's and also had knee replacement surgery. His office is in his basement so that is also a struggle. You Tube has inundated him with submissions. Please be patient. He has given so much to us all, asking so little in return. And please, stay away from You Tube, come here first.
WTG Tommy....New finds are fun...I have a couple here but just haven't taken the time to send them in... one of these days!,
Another I sent to him I was not sure about was a 1972 P Lincoln Cent that turned out to be WDDO-002. They can be confusing, at least to me but it was better than a sharp stick in the eye or MD. Sometimes I can get close but need another pair of eyes.
I need to send him this 1942 type 'll proof nickel Struck with a 1942 type l obv. Die. As the 1942 type l with this die marker on Toms collar is an ddo. So basically I found a die marriage between a obv. Type l with the rev. Of a type ll Proof nickel.
Nice finds!! Sounds like there may be a few members who have made new discoveries. It would be kinda nice to see a thread just for them. It would get everyone some recognition for their finds, start to build a history on the variety, and it would let people know about what new varieties to look for.
