Only two of the best dates in the series, and in XF-AU condition, maybe better for the 1909-S -- but with green spots of verdigris. There once was a product called Verdi-Care that would remove those spots, but it's no longer available. The 1909-S is definitely worth the effort to conserve, and I'd try to get some work done on the 1908-S as well. Even with the spots, that 1909-S is a multi-hundred-dollar coin. Your father was quite the collector.
No kidding! Those are great. I think the 1877 in combination with these two are the best dates in the series.
The ever elusive 1871 & 1872 are nothing to sneeze at too. For whatever reason, one of my personal favorites is the 1869. Just like with my 4 year old granddaughter, I just can't say "no" to one. Tough find in MS.
