Two key Lincolns, one is counterfeit. Which?

    I have a feeling we're going to be seeing a lot more "no decision" or "authenticity unverifiable" as our replica producing friends continue to improve their techniques in the manufacturing of their "products".

    1914d is fake. The second 1 is too small. Cannot see if the VDB is on the front bottom of Lincoln, this would prove that it's a fake.



    Ikeigwin, you are right about the VDB, it was after 1918, therefor if the coin is a 1944d, then the VDB would be below Lincoln's shoulder, if you could see it from the picture.

    There is no PVC residue.

    The 1914-D is a genuine 1914 with an added mintmark.

    VDB wasn't placed under Lincoln's shoulder until 1918. If it's fake it was likely made from a real 1909.
