Very common coins in very common grades. Like jwitten said, these were not cherry picks and are far from epic.
Think about why you got that quarter for $5. Nobody wanted it.

You don't have to be a dealer to get the Grey sheet, just a credit card. Getting it online is the best because you get it a day earlier and can just pull it up on a pad or laptop. I think it has gone down in quality and up in price a bit since it was bought out a couple of years ago.

I should have said "I don't have the need for the subscription", and the cost (to me) is an unnecessary expense. I am lucky though, my LCS will give me current greysheet photocopies, or the old guide if I ask for it. I just got the greysheet for the classic commems that I'm in the market for.

Nah! Reasonable prices but certainly not "Epic" cherrypicks. Not to mention that a "cherrypick" is finding a rare coin at the price of a common coin?

Back in 2011, I needed a coin for my First Day of Issue Presidential Registry set. Price guide was $200+

Today, that Price Guide value sits at $230.

I found the coin on Teletrade on 8/9/2011 and picked it up for $7.00.
Throw in Shipping, Handling, and tax and I walked away for only $12.87

Of course, that doesn't mean a danged thing in todays market since I doubt that I could sell the coin for even $12.00 yet, the PCGS Price Guide STILL has it listed at $230??

Price Guides and Reality are often in the middle of a YUUUGE conflict!

What really matters is whether or not you're happy with your purchase which, you obviously are.

    Congrats.

My idea of a "Cherrypick" is finding an MS66 Washington Quarter for $12.00 that also happened to have a Type B Reverse. Now THAT would be an "Epic" "You Suck" Cherry Pick!

Or, how about an MS66 1971-D Eisenhower Dollar that had the Type 1 Reverse for $3.75??

My latest cherrypicks were two 1857 Snow-2 Flying Eagles from my LCS. That's the obverse of '56. VF40 and 35, paid $35 each. :D

Nice clean up. How did you remove the vaseline so well you got it past the TPG?

Paper towel. This was before PCGS used that "sniffer" technology, though.

Would acetone have done the trick as well?

I don't know about Great Collections for moderns, but the Roman Imperial coins there are substantially overpriced, particularly given the 12.5% buyers fee on top of the price. I don't see much bidding on those, just on the common staters of Alexander.

Yeah, as I said before I usually use cherrypick in that way but this time I changed my mind.
