It's me again, Newbie, who's been sitting on an incredible coin lot for years, and now, has the time to become slightly obsessed! 1945 Mercury Dime Missing date 1.jpg 1945 Mercury Dime Missing date 2.jpg 1950 Lincoln Cent Die Crack 2.jpg 1950 Lincoln Cent Die Crack 1.jpg 1950 Lincoln Cent Die Crack 4.jpg 1950 Lincoln Cent Die Crack 3.jpg

Hello . Welcome . :) The Cent is Def. damaged . As far as ths dime , it could be a grease filled dime or it may be wear. Hard to tell for sure . JMHO .

Meaning....it took a hit, after leaving the mint? How does this occur?

The 1 is now a short L, and perhaps the 5 received the 1's goods. LOL

Copper is a soft metal, and very malleable. ]A letter or number can easily be moved on the coins surface.

That Cent took a hit and moved the soft copper so it's damaged. The weak 4 onbthe dime looks like the Die had grease or debris and caused it to look weak. Very common.
